Kalachakra Mandala Thangka

Kalachakra means Wheel of Time, and this mandala maps the connection between the universe, the body, and the enlightened mind. Four gates guide the eye toward the center, each representing one of the Four Immeasurables: loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Master artists in Kathmandu can spend months completing a single Kalachakra Mandala, given its density of detail.
