About the Art
A hand-painted Thangka can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on size and detail. Simple pieces are often finished in three to four weeks, while large, intricate mandalas can take much longer since every proportion follows a strict traditional grid.
Every Thangka we sell is genuinely hand-painted, never printed. Our artists use real mineral pigments and gold dust on organic cotton canvas, so small natural variations between pieces are a mark of authentic craftsmanship, not a flaw.
A Thangka painting is a sacred Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting used for meditation, teaching, and devotion. Each one depicts a deity, mandala, or Buddhist story, and is believed to carry the spiritual presence of what it portrays.
Yes, that's one of their original purposes. Thangkas give practitioners a visual focus for meditation, so many customers hang one directly above or near their meditation seat.
Hang it at eye level in a living room, shrine corner, or meditation space, somewhere it will be seen often. Avoid bathrooms, kitchens, and spots with direct heat or heavy moisture, since both fabric and pigment are sensitive to humidity.
Keep it out of direct sunlight and in a room with stable humidity, since UV exposure is the main cause of fading. Dust gently with a soft, dry brush, and if you need to store it, roll rather than fold it to avoid permanent creases.

Delivery takes an estimated 7 to 12 business days from dispatch, depending on your location. Custom commissions take longer, since the painting has to be completed before it ships.
Orders over $200 ship free. Below that, cost is calculated at checkout based on your location and the size of the piece.
Every order ships from our workshop and head office in Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal, where each Thangka is hand-painted.
Returns and Order Changes
Yes, returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery if the item is in its original condition. The buyer covers return shipping costs.
Contact us first through WhatsApp or our contact page. Damaged or incorrect items get a replacement or full refund with photo proof, while a change of mind typically means a return within 14 days followed by a new order.
Contact us as soon as possible after placing your order. Since most pieces are hand-painted to order, cancellation can only be guaranteed before work on your piece has started.
