Jambhala Thangka Paintings

Jambhala, also spelled Dzambhala or Zambala, is the Buddhist deity of wealth and generosity. Buddhist tradition recognizes five forms of Jambhala, each carrying a different color and role. The Pancha Jambhala painting shows all five together, circling the central Yellow form. Legend says Black Jambhala rose from a sacred river to free a king from poverty. Practitioners honor him as chief among the five forms. Our artists hand-paint each piece in Kathmandu using natural mineral pigments, organic cotton canvas, and genuine 24K gold.
